The Department of Environment, Government of NCT of Delhi, has issued a public notice informing the general public about the complete ban on the sale, production, storage, supply, import and use of nylon, plastic and other synthetic kite-flying threads, including the popularly known “Chinese Manja”.
Kite flying in Delhi is permitted only with cotton thread that is free from sharp, metallic or glass components, adhesives and thread-strengthening materials.
Any violation of these directions is punishable under Section 15 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986.
