Days before the Assembly Election at Falta in South 24 Parganas of West Bengal on May 21, Trinamul Congress candidate at the seat Jahangir Khan has been granted by the Calcutta High Court an interim cover from any coercive step by the police following his plea. On Monday, Mr Khan moved the HC fearing his arrest by the police, sought to know the details of FIRs which have been filed against him and a protection from coercive actions. Former state advocate general Kishore Datta mentioned the matter representing Mr Khan before Justice Saugata Bhattacharya of the HC.
