About the job Hi all! We at Postgres Professional are looking for a Tech Presale in Moscow. This role will focus on support for backup, high availability, and sharding issues in Postgres Pro products. A little about us: Postgres Professional is the developer of Postgres Pro, the most popular Russian database management system based on the open-source PostgreSQL. We are also one of the world's largest contributors to the open-source database management system, submitting over 100 patches to the PostgreSQL community each year. Postgres Professional employs experienced PostgreSQL experts—more than half of our team is Russian PostgreSQL developers, including the system's Major Contributors. Together, we solve complex customer challenges, including improvements to the PostgreSQL kernel. What you will be doing: conducting technical presentations and product demonstrations; development of pilot projects, including installation, configuration and integration into the customer’s infrastructure; providing technical consultations during the project implementation process, support for the technical aspects of the transaction; participation in the development of requirements for future releases of the solution; assistance in preparing technical and tender documentation; interaction with sales, support and development teams; development of technical specifications from the customer and preparation of an implementation program. We expect: experience with PostgreSQL, experience with Postgres Pro is welcome; experience with database backup and recovery systems; experience with pg_probackup is welcome; understanding of the concept of sharding, experience working with sharding; experience in building high-reliability systems using BiHA, Patroni and similar systems; knowledge of Linux OS; experience in supporting sales of technical solutions; English at Intermediate level and above; ability to make presentations, demos, proof of concept; experience in writing texts and articles; the ability to answer questions and simply explain complex things; readiness for business trips.
