About the job Our client, a leading multinational bank, is looking for an Operations Director who will be responsible for the development and management of all aspects of the Operations function within the Bank. The role focuses on ensuring that there are efficient and robust operational processes in place to ensure the smooth delivery of support and services to both internal and external stakeholders. Role Profile Provide a strategic vision for Operations Develop a strong operations department, focusing on delivering an efficient and effective service to all the business lines, other support functions and customers Develop a culture of continuous improvement Ensure that adequate capacity planning and resourcing is provided at all times Lead the Operations team in their day to day activities, ensuring operational risk is kept to a minimum and that the processes meet with the relevant regulatory authorities requirements Implement and document clear processes and procedures with a focus on controls and best practice Develop, manage and report on KPI’s appropriate to the departments assigned tasks Work with other departments/functions across the bank to ensure efficient end to end processes Improves quality and efficiency of output by enhancing IT systems, workflows and know-how of staff Lead end-to-end management of banking operations and drive continuous process improvement Ensure integration of IT infrastructure with operational workflows and banking systems Drive and oversee digital transformation initiatives across departments Develop and implement strategies for automation, process optimization, and business continuity Collaborate closely with IT, cybersecurity, internal audit, and compliance teams Define, monitor, and report on operational KPIs and SLAs Ensure operational alignment with local and international banking regulations Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and service excellence Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s or MBA is a plus) Minimum 15 years of experience in the banking sector, with significant exposure to both operations and IT Proven track record in IT-enabled process transformation and project management In-depth knowledge of banking systems, IT infrastructure, automation tools, and regulatory compliance Experience in payment systems and retail banking operations, credit operations and treasury operations Strong leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills Keen understanding of the key processes surrounding Operations with strong commercial and financial acumen.
