Manage all legal matters within assigned business units that require sound legal judgment, experience, and independent reasoning.
Assess proposed commercial relationships to ensure their implications are fully understood; structure and draft/negotiate agreements to ensure those relationships are properly defined and recorded, and advise on the functioning of those relationships.
Support the protection and enforcement of Syngenta's property rights, and evaluate, advise, and coordinate intellectual property and anti-counterfeiting activities within a
designated territory; collaborate closely with other functions, including at the regional and global levels, to maximize opportunities for intelligence gathering and enforcement actions beyond the designated territory.
Assistance in the implementation of the territorial strategy at the University level.
Provide support to other Legal team members in achieving the strategic goals of the business and the Legal team, including the formation and management of assigned business within the TC, and to enhance the Legal team's credibility with key client groups.
Develop and continuously improve knowledge and expertise in key areas of law that are central to achieving Syngenta's objectives and strategy within the defined projects/centres of excellence.
Resolve major third-party claims by or against Syngenta in connection with its corporate law activities.
Preparation, editing, review and revision of standard contracts and other standard legal documents for CP and Seeds BU.
Initial assessment of legal issues. Preparation of legal memoranda, independently or in collaboration with legal counsel.
Managing standard compliance requests.
Support Syngenta's compliance program by providing dedicated training to employees.
Corporate secretarial work for legal entities and representative offices.
Qualification requirements
Higher legal education
At least 6 international law firms or other organizations.
Experience in providing legal support in complex negotiations.
A mature approach to one's work and the ability to manage projects with the involvement of other specialists and/or senior business colleagues.
Experience working in a team.
High level of analytical skills for structuring business proposals and translating them into the relevant legal framework.
Excellent command of English, spoken and written.
Excellent relationship building, conflict resolution and networking skills.
Strong results orientation, demonstrated negotiation and problem-solving skills.
