SummaryThe Director of Manufacturing oversees and leads teams across our two facilities, managing all operations and personnel involved in the production of both new and refurbished machinery. This role ensures effective oversight of strategic production scheduling spanning several highly customizable, configure-to-order product lines. The Director collaborates closely with multiple internal departments and external partners to guarantee on-time product delivery.Principal Accountabilities (Functional) Designs and executes manufacturing programs and initiatives to enhance the company's competitive advantage and profitability. Manages scheduling and directs both manufacturing and test engineering functions. Coordinates production processes to ensure that both new and existing products are manufactured on schedule, meeting quality benchmarks and cost targets. Prioritizes quality, timely delivery, labor productivity, and effective cost control. Leads the creation and execution of annual operating plans and budgets. Aligns production needs across various business units and locations. Shapes business unit strategies and contributes actively to broader corporate strategic planning.Principal Accountabilities (General Supervisory) Fulfills supervisory responsibilities in line with company policies and applicable state and federal regulations, including talent acquisition, employee development, workflow management, and performance evaluation. Communicates and enforces company policies with staff, upholding all safety standards. Ensures optimal and cost-effective use of materials, drives process improvements, and eliminates waste. Develops and manages workforce planning and allocation programs to meet current and future organizational needs, including efficient scheduling of overtime and staffing resources. Implements cross-training initiatives to build a highly adaptable workforce, focusing on employee growth and versatility. Sets and tracks individual and team objectives, monitoring progress toward established performance goals. Demonstrates strong skills in swift production issue resolution and recovery.Requirements Bachelor's degree in Engineering is preferred. At least 8 years of relevant experience in capital equipment manufacturing is strongly preferred. Proven track record in budget management, which includes labor absorption, labor expenses, materials for testing, and travel costs, is essential. Experience managing multiple plant operations is advantageous.Responsibility for Quality Procedures or Direct Product Quality Adheres to Universal Quality System policies and procedures and uses Total Cycle Time principles and standard problem solving tools to continuously improve work processes.Physical Demands Requires the ability to use a computer on a frequent basis. Requires the ability to communicate clearly with co-workers, and in giving presentations.
