Description: Two 18-year-old PUC students from Bengaluru lost their lives and two others sustained serious injuries after a petrol tanker rammed into their car on the Mysuru–Virajpet Highway near Thithimathi in Kodagu district on 26 July. The group of five friends from Lakshmipura, Bengaluru, was travelling to Wayanad when the tragic accident occurred near the archway of Sri Raja Rajeshwari Ashram. One of the victims, Dhanush, died on the spot due to the severe impact. The injured were shifted for treatment, and the deceased was taken to Gonikoppa mortuary for post-mortem examination.
