At least five workers were killed and 11 others injured when two heavy cranes collapsed on a structure where they were taking shelter, during a storm at a NCC Limited facility in Shankarpally on Monday evening. The incident occurred amid intense winds and heavy rain, triggering panic at the site. Some of the injured were stated to be in a critical condition. According to preliminary information, the site located at Mahalingapuram is a Nagarjuna Construction Company facility where pre-cast structures and support pillars for flyovers and the Metro Rail are being manufactured.
