Oneperson died on the spot, while 13 others sustained serious injuries in the accident the Addanki–Narketpally highway on Wednesday. A speeding mini travel bus rammed into a stationary DCM vehicle parked on the roadside near the outskirts of Narketpally. According to local residents, the passengers were returning to Hyderabad after visiting the holy pilgrimage site of Arunachalam in Tamil Nadu when the mishap occurred. As the mini bus reached the outskirts of Narketpally, the driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the parked DCM. The impact was so severe that the front portion of the mini bus was completely crushed. The cries of the injured passengers created a horrifying scene at the accident site. Immediately after the accident, local residents and motorists rushed to help and informed the police. Upon reaching the spot, police personnel shifted the injured victims to a nearby hospital for treatment. Sources said that the condition of some of the injured remains critical. Police have registered a case and launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the accident.
