A massive wildfire in southwest France has displaced around 2,50,000 people as flames continue to spread towards the city of Bordeaux. The blaze has burned approximately 42,000 hectares of land, fuelled by strong winds and dry conditions following successive heatwaves. Firefighters, supported by aircraft and military personnel, are working to contain the fire. Neighbouring Spain has also been severely affected, with over 1,16,000 people evacuated due to multiple wildfires. One person has died in a wildfire near Valencia, while earlier fires this month claimed 13 lives in southern Spain. Authorities remain on high alert as the fires threaten residential areas and critical infrastructure.
