4 Workers Killed in Cylinder Blast at Factory in Assam

At least four workers lost their lives in a suspected LPG cylinder explosion at an iron casting unit in Pangram, Cachar district, Assam, on July 26. Several others sustained injuries and were admitted to Silchar Medical College and Hospital. The deceased have been identified as Kiran Munda, Appu Baraik, Shyamal Gour and Sagar Nath.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has announced financial assistance of ₹5 lakh each to the families of the deceased through the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. Authorities have detained the factory manager and three others as investigations into possible safety lapses are underway. Multiple agencies, including the district administration, police and Labour Commissioner, will conduct separate inquiries into the incident.
